Saturday morning, and we are both soooo tired, it was a job to get up this morning! It doesn't seem possible that we have been in California for a week now, people who were strangers, just names I had heard or read have now become great friends, and it has been a wonderful week.

This morning the first presentation of the day was by Temple Grandin on Animals in Translation. It was a fascinating presentation, and we were fortunate enough to meet Temple afterwards, although sadly, all copies of her book had sold out by the time we got to the top of the queue.

Wendy & Caesar with Dr Temple Grandin from Colorado State University.

Saturday evening, well all intentions of an early night were abandoned! This afternoon Carol and I went with both our dogs to Seaport Village and Old Town to do some shopping. I was delighted to find a sweatshirt in a sale ... which I know my poker playing buddies will be envious of! I also bought a new lanyard for my camera, it says "Big Dog Mom, she who must be obeyed"!

We visited the Harley shop at Seaport Village, San Diego!

Palms against the sunset, a familiar sight here in California.

You need to get a copy of that book. What a way to treat the keynote speaker. I am so surprised.

You need to send my regards to one of the speakers at the conference tomorrow. Her name is By Dr. Mia MacCollin. She actually submitted a photo for one of my contests, the one that celebrated Patty's Book, Bailey Bymyside.

You can see it at http://landofpuregold.com/bcontest.htm . It is entitled: The Trail Ahead with Service Dog-in-Training Madison as the pictured Golden.

I read Temple's book and really enjoyed it, how I wish I could have been there.

Remember to have Caesar take notes for me! Looking forward to seeing you both next week!

Suzan, why did you decide to cancel and not go to the conference? I was never clear on that.

Well, I didn't get to meet Mia as such, but we did get to speak when I asked a question at the end of her presentation and introduced myself...she said she knew who I was and complimentned me on my keynote ... sadly, she was busy right afterwards and I had to head off for the bus to Sea World.
