Caesar goes to Wimbledon

Caesar posing at Wimbledon!

Wednesday July 3rd 2002... Caesar became the first ever assistance dog to attend the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club Championships ...Wimbledon

Wow! What an exciting time I had on our trip to Wimbledon!
Mum and I set off by train to stay overnight with Mike, I love the train so that was a great start. Then while on the train Mum had a phone call from the BBC saying they wanted to shoot some outdoor shots of us, in preparation for our LIVE INTERVIEW on the Breakfast From Wimbledon show the next morning. We met up with the film crew and I performed several tasks, I thought the furry thing on the mic on the camera was an animal, so I tried to take it!

My first tv interview!

Rob Bonnet, Linford Christie, Gaby Roslin & US!

After stopping the night with Mike, all three of us set off for Wimbledon. We were met at the gates by a tv producer, and we were all given security passes, mine said my name was Mr Caesar! The filming of the show was done in the members restaurant, and when we arrived Mum had to get make up, but I didn't need any! I enjoyed meeting all the new people. We were interviewed live on air by Gaby Roslin, Rob Bonnet another presenter was also there, and two of the other guests were Alan Mills (the tournament referee) and Linford Christie. The best part of the interview was when Gaby gave me a strawberry! After the interview, we chatted with the BBC staff, and then were shown round the outside broadcast facilities.

Strawberries please!

Interview over, strawberries please!

We then set off to watch the tennis on No. 1 court. Unfortunately, the tennis was interrupted by rain so many times, but we did get to see Serena Williams vs Danielle Hantuchova & Phillipousis vs Kraijeck. At first I was very interested in watching the tennis balls go back and forth, but got tired very quickly and fell asleep!

Centre Court!

Wey hey! I found Centre Court!

Will anyone notice?

Do you think anyone will notice?

Cuddles!

Mum loves cuddles!

I am very proud to have been the first assistance dog to go to Wimbledon, and I loved being treated like a celebrity ... I wonder if my good behaviour qualifies me for an extra chew?
